Wetherspoon's criticised for launching 99p pint

Pub chain JD Wetherspoon has launched a new offer which will see consumers pay less than one pound for a pint of beer, with campaigners criticising the company for being irresponsible.
Don Shenker, chief executive at Alcohol Concern, claimed the firm's low prices could encourage more binge drinking, something which could see people invest in pure oxygen equipment to help battle the hangover.
He stated that it is understandable that businesses price their products competitively in tough economic times, but that low-cost alcohol is asking for trouble.
"Alcohol is not an ordinary commodity like bread or milk. Alcohol causes harm to the nation's health and economy, and there appears to be a strong link between cheap alcohol and the high levels of binge drinking in the UK," Mr Shenker said.
Those planning on taking advantage of the reduced prices may want to invest in some home oxygen equipment to help with the hangover the next day.
According to researchers at Temple University, coffee and exercise provide little relief from hangovers.
