Tiger Woods using oxygen equipment to prepare for the Open?

Oxygen equipment could be playing a part in Tiger Woods' preparation for The Open.

The golfer has chosen to stay at home in the US rather than train on links courses in the build-up to the tournament - which is his traditional method of readying himself for such an event.

And it was recently revealed the sportsman has had an oxygen therapy room fitted into his mansion in Florida to enable him to better recover from injury and get him into top shape before taking to the course.

It was also constructed for its relaxation and therapeutic effects.

Woods said he was desperate to return home after spending two days at the JP McManus Pro-Am in Limerick, but stated he will come back to the UK to compete on the St Andrews course before it begins.

Elin Nordegren, the athlete's wife, recently suggested she would like possession of the family property - including the oxygen therapy room - as part of any divorce settlement.
