Superbike racer 'uses pure oxygen in a can'

MSS Colchester Kawasaki rider Simon Andrews believes he will have an edge over his opponents in the 2010 MCE British Superbike Championship – pure oxygen in a can.

Andrews has signed an exclusive agreement with Oxyfit and will use its products, which include oxygen in a can and portable oxygen concentrators, before each race in the competition.

He stated that breathing oxygen-enriched air will prove to be an effective weapon in his arsenal and will ultimately give him an advantage over the course of the season.

"Oxyfit gives me the benefits of faster recovery, more alertness, being able to train harder and being able to train longer. It should give me the edge. We are going to use it all year. It's going to be my secret weapon," Andrews added.

According to The Potential Ergogenic Effects of Training While Breathing Oxygen Enriched Air study by Carl Lanore, carried out on behalf of Super Human Radio, breathing oxygen-enriched air can benefit those who take part in aerobic training by increasing their endurance.
