Simon Andrews 'glad to be back in Superbike action'

Superbike rider Simon Andrews has revealed he is glad to be back in action.

The racer - who has previously accredited part of his recovery from injury to using portable oxygen - left the MCE Insurance British Superbike round seven with a smile on his face, the Cotswold Journal reports.

Andrews, who competes for MSS Colchester Kawasaki, participated in three events at the gathering and claimed he was enjoying being back on the circuit.

Finishing race three in sixth position, the 26-year-old said he had hoped for better but admitted the result was a decent one under the circumstances.

"Looking at the bigger picture, it is good to be back and riding without injury," he explained.

Andrews recently decribed how using OXYfit - oxygen in a bottle - helped him return to racing after suffering an injury earlier in the season.

He said the portable oxygen rejuvenated him after training sessions.
