Scientists 'discover anti-aging benefits' of oxygen equipment

Those seeking younger-looking skin may want to turn their attention to oxygen equipment as scientists have discovered the method can slow the formation of wrinkles.

A Japanese study has found that an overdose of oxygen can help prevent wrinkles by reducing tissue damage that has been caused by exposure to UVB rays, DNAIndia.com reports.

The researchers looked at a number of mice that had been placed in an oxygen chamber after having been subjected to ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation.

Rodents that were given this treatment showed significantly fewer indications of skin damage than the animals that were only exposed to UVB rays, the scientists revealed.

The results of the investigation have been published in the American Journal of Physiology - Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology.

Writing on The Griffin Center Blog, the Dermatology Associates of Atlanta recently explained oxygen-based beauty treatments can leave the skin looking and feeling refreshed, with an added visible lift.
