Rucksack packing tips for an oxygen-pumping trek

Breathing pure oxygen can be a great way to overcome tiredness on a long trek that tests your body's endurance.

But for anyone taking a trek this summer, there are a number of other considerations to take into account before making the foray into the wilderness.

For instance, you should ensure that all your equipment is packed appropriately so that your most vital accessories are located at the top of the rucksack.

World record breaking adventurer Jason De Carteret said: "Remember where you put everything.

"Otherwise … as soon as you start to look for something it is so annoying if you have to unpack your whole backpack before you find it."

The expert suggested investing in a light backpack that fits the length of your back for added comfort.

Stocking up on quality equipment is also important to ensure your tools are in order as and when you need them.

Mr De Carteret added: "I always find that there is stuff that you are going to need quickly … Those are the things that you need that should be easy to get to."

This includes items like a camera, water or rain jacket.
