Rally driver using oxygen equipment to recover

A rally driver is using oxygen equipment to speed up his recovery following a crash.
According to MaxRally.com, Guy Wilks is receiving oxygen treatment after a collision on Rally d'Italia-Sardegna left him with fractures to his first and second lumbar vertebrae.
The 29-year-old's Skoda Fabia Super 2000 was travelling at high speed when he lost control of the vehicle and it skidded off the track during the Intercontinental Rally Challenge qualifier.
He is hopeful the oxygen equipment will enable him to compete at the Geko Ypres Rally in Belgium, which will be taking place between June 24th and 26th.
"I want to be back sooner rather than later and everything is possible for Ypres but we have to see what the doctor says first," the driver explained.
Ammar Tahir from the University of Notre Dame recently suggested oxygen therapy could be a useful method to help restore memory consolidation in adults with obstructive sleep apnoea.
