Pure oxygen 'has so many benefits'

Breathing oxygen-enriched air has numerous health benefits and can be effective in combating headaches and combating stress, one newspaper has reported.

According to the Daily Mail, there is a strong body of scientific evidence which shows that hyperoxia can help improve brain function, tissue regeneration and endurance.

One study by researchers at the Human Cognitive Neuroscience Unit of the University of Northumbria found that those who breathed oxygen-enriched air remembered up to 20 per cent more words from a list than those who did not.

"Some of the benefits are: [it] boosts energy, enables recovery more quickly after exertion, gets rid of headaches and hangovers, relieves stress, increases concentration and enables you to feel more relaxed and revitalised," the newspaper says.

Those who suffer from cluster headaches can get almost instant relief from the pain if they invest in pure oxygen, according to a study at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London, which was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
