Portable oxygen to help lessen obesity costs?

Portable oxygen could be a cost-effective way for people in Britain to help battle the dangers of obesity.

According to Medical News Today, there are currently more than one million people in the UK who are suffering from severe and complex forms of the disorder, which is costing the NHS around £4.2 billion.

The source suggested more is now known about the relationship between sleep apnoea and obesity and noted the organisation is to now attempt to solve the problem.

It means oxygen equipment - which can help people attain a better night's sleep - could be considered in a bid to help individuals get adequate periods of shut-eye.

The website added indirect healthcare and societal costs for obesity is nearer to £16 billion, a figure expected to double by 2050.

In a recent article for TopNews, Barinder Khatra revealed some people are prepared to travel long distances in an attempt to gain treatment for sleep apnoea.
