Portable oxygen news: Expert gives tips to get a good night's sleep

Portable oxygen can be used to refresh people who feel tired after a night of disturbed sleep and these individuals may be interested in some tips from an expert on how to get better quality rest.

Anandi, the sleep guru from thesleepguru.co.uk, warned people to be careful not to make their problems worse over the Christmas holidays.

While it may be tempting for some festive party goers to drink alcohol in the hope it will help get them off to the land of nod, the specialist explained this could actually be harmful.

Consuming booze could wake people up in the middle of the night, affecting sleep cycles, which Anandi said are extremely important.

In fact, trying to catch up on sleep over Christmas could also be a bad idea for the same reason.

"The body has a special internal clock and rhythm called circadian rhythm. If you are always out of your natural rhythm, sleep will be adversely affected," she remarked.

Her advice to those finding it difficult to get enough rest was to practice yoga, create positive goals for the future and believing it is possible for individuals to transform themselves.

Her comments follow the release of research by Dreams Beds, which showed people's sleeping rhythms could be put at risk at Christmas, with 45 per cent of Britons admitting to staying up later during the festive season.
