Portable oxygen canisters 'useful for healthy people'

While some may assume that portable oxygen canisters are something mostly utilised by those suffering from breathing disorders, they can actually be useful for people who are in good health.

EZArticles suggests that increasing pollution in towns and cities has meant that these devices are helpful to a whole host of people, who may find that they are an "indispensable part of life".

The site advises that breathing oxygen-enriched air could be particularly useful for athletes and those who do a lot of running.

"Not only sick people need this kind of equipment. For example if you are extremely active and need to run in large amounts, then you may need a portable oxygen concentrator," it states.

Additionally, oxygen therapy is helpful for those with hectic schedules who live in big cities and may struggle to get out into the fresh air.

New York Injury News recently advised that oxygen can also be used to treat deep sea divers who are suffering from decompression illness.
