Portable oxygen 'allows motorcycling couple to hit the road'

Portable oxygen has meant long-distance travel is no obstacle for a Canadian couple.

Brenda Cunningham and Bruce Eyre both suffer from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) but oxygen equipment has enabled them in indulge in their passion - motorcycling, Northern Life reports.

The pair set out on their first lengthy two-wheel adventure in 2009, when they headed to Canada's east coast and the north-eastern territories of the US.

Mr Cunningham described it as an amazing journey.

"Picture a child, when they're first let into something. You know how wonderful it is. That's what the first trip was like," he explained.

The duo have now clocked up nearly two months of travel on the bikes thanks to the flexibility afforded by portable oxygen.

Superbike competitor Simon Andrews recently claimed he is looking forward to success next season after oxygen equipment helped him make a full recovery from a heel injury he sustained following a crash.
