Oxygen treatment 'may prevent cancer'

Oxygen therapy can help to reduce the chances of a person developing cancer, according to one expert.

Dr Otto Warburg, twice Nobel laureate, said that cells which are deprived of oxygen are more likely to turn cancerous, as they function anaerobically rather than aerobically.

As oxygen therapy helps to provide cells with oxygen-enriched air, Dr Warburg's findings suggest that people may be able to reduce their chances of developing cancer by using oxygen therapy, claims the Internet Health Library.

"In essence, therefore, advocates of oxygen therapy claim that it is the lack of oxygen on a cellular level that is responsible for disease. The greater oxygen levels in our bodies, the more resistant we become," the source said.

Meanwhile, James Peterson, from heart-health.us.com, wrote on Articlesbase.com that oxygen therapy is an excellent way for people with stressful lives to alleviate the pressure.
