Oxygen treatment 'helps wounded veterans to recover'

Oxygen treatment has been seen to help wounded veterans recover from their injuries, according to a study by Louisiana State University.
The research found that oxygen therapy can be an effective treatment for head injuries - the most common war wound from the Iraq conflict, with an estimated one-third of former soldiers suffering from them.
As well as aiding veterans in their recovery from head injuries, breathing oxygen-enriched air has also been found to successfully treat a variety of other ailments.
Divers can now be administered with oxygen when they are being treated for decompression sickness.
Additionally, the method has been found to assist with the healing of wounds and radiation necrosis.
Customers of the iO2 Cafe in Madison recently told the University of Wisconsin's Badger Herald newspaper breathing oxygen-enriched air helped them to get rid of headaches.
"Inhaling oxygen often gets rid of a headache I may have and just gives me an overall euphoric feeling," said Alyssa Frederick.
