Oxygen treatment 'gives seriously ill youngster more freedom'

Since being administered with oxygen treatment, a seriously ill schoolboy from Lincoln has been living life to the full.
Leon Goodhew suffers from a heart condition known as Eisenmenger's syndrome, which after leaving him with an unfixable hole in his heart has meant he is out of breath when performing day-to-day activities, the Lincolnshire Echo reports.
However, after customers and staff at the city's Elite Fish and Chip Company were touched by his plight, they raised over £5,000 for the youngster.
Some of this money went towards providing Leon with a portable oxygen concentrator, which his mum says has dramatically improved his quality of life.
"The portable oxygen concentrator gives him a lot more freedom, and allows us to travel and take him away with us for weekends," states Jayne Goodhew.
Karen Barrow, writing for the New York Daily News, recently advised that those suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder can see their quality of life improve by breathing oxygen-enriched air.
