Oxygen treatment 'an exciting technique'

Using oxygen therapy to treat wounded diabetics has been described as "an exciting technique".

Oxygen can be used to treat all sorts of wounds for those suffering from the disease, including painful foot ulcers, weeklyblitz.net reported, describing the method as "a very new but very exciting technique".

Dr Anil Gombar, senior physician at Max Hospital in New Delhi, explained that one in every six patients suffering from diabetes develops a foot ulcer at some stage in their life.

Meanwhile, every 30 seconds someone with diabetes has to have a food amputated. Therefore, undergoing oxygen therapy could prove to be an effective way to combat the problem.

However, it is not just people suffering from the condition who can benefit from oxygen treatment - Randy Micallef, owner of Cloud Nine Oxygen Bar, recently wrote on the bar's blog that breathing oxygen-enriched air can have numerous health benefits.

"This has lots of health benefits, but we find it's best for headaches, allergies and boosting your energy. Generally, you start feeling the positive effects in seven to ten minutes," he said.
