Oxygen therapy to help treat Lyme disease?

Treatment of Lyme disease could be an additional benefit of oxygen therapy, it has been suggested.
Patients Medical, a holistic medical centre in New York, has announced it is using the method to help it combat "one of summer's most malicious diseases".
Dr Rashmi Gulati, medical director of the organisation, noted: "Bacteria, such as that which causes Lyme disease, are unable to survive in such an oxygen-rich environment and can be greatly reduced or eliminated over a course of treatments."
The option serves to enhance the body's natural ability to heal and reduce inflammation, the specialist observed.
Dr Gulati has appeared as a medical expert on a number of television shows in the US, including Good Morning America, CNN and WCBS.
It was recently revealed staff at the Wound Care Institute are most excited about the development of a new oxygen therapy room, which can provide patients with a relaxed and comfortable healing experience.
