Oxygen therapy to aid alertness on the road?

Individuals could use portable oxygen to make sure they stay alert on the roads and prevent any accidents from occurring.

The Journal Times, quoting statistics from the American Public Health Association, noted that in 2008, 20 per cent of crashes came as a result of some form of distraction.

As well as this, preventable injuries rank among the top ten reasons for death for people in the US.

For individuals who are preparing to undertake long-term journeys, it is essential for them to realise the importance of ensuring they are capable of driving.

One option available to them is to buy oxygen in a can, as the re-energising qualities of the product will prevent them from falling asleep or losing focus.

Bob McCoy, a respiratory therapist, recently told HME News that education is still required around the issue of oxygen therapy, as many individuals do not use it in the right way because of a lack of knowledge.
