Oxygen therapy 'helps premature babies'

Babies who are born prematurely could avoid having to spend the first few weeks - or even months - of their life on a ventilator if they are administered with oxygen therapy, according to reports.
The Medical Center blog notes that a new study has shown that those who are born very prematurely can benefit from breathing oxygen-enriched air.
Researchers suggests that this method of treatment is "kinder and gentler" to newborn babies than more invasive practices that can be undertaken to try and help them breathe.
However, it is not just newborn premature babies that oxygen therapy can help. The HGH Releaser blog recently stated that breathing oxygen-enriched air can also be particularly beneficial to people with debilitating medical conditions such as lung or heart disease.
The treatment can also be used to lessen the negative effects of conditions associated with carbon monoxide poisoning, smoke inhalation and other situations where a person is not able to breathe oxygen on a regular basis.
