Oxygen news: Home gyms offer a cheap way to stay fit, expert says

People using portable oxygen to keep them energised while they train may consider creating a home gym, as one expert has said this can be a cheaper and easier way to work out.

Joanna Knight, editor of Women's Fitness, explained having a few pieces of equipment at home can help people get enough exercise without the need for membership fees.

Furthermore, it is more difficult to make excuses not to stick to a regime if an individual is not required to leave their home.

"You can wear what you feel comfortable in and you don't have to queue for the showers," she added.

Those who do not want to splash out on technology for their houses to help them train could get exercise for free by taking up running, which is one activity Ms Knight said has become more popular following the economic downturn.

Chief executive officer at CKO Kickboxing in the US Joseph Andreula recently advised people to save their money and not buy a gym membership if they find themselves dreading going to the establishment, as the likelihood is they will not stick to it.
