Oxygen equipment use to lead to better mental skills?

Individuals who use oxygen equipment to allow them to take part in physical activities could be improving their mental skills for later life, a new study has suggested.

The research was led by Laura Middleton of the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Canada and showed the amount of exercise a person does in their younger years can determine how able-minded they are in years to come.

It has been published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society and involved more than 9,000 women in the US who were over the age of 65.

Participants answered a number of questions about their exercise levels throughout their lives.

Ms Middleton observed: "People who were physically active on a regular basis had lower risk of cognitive impairments in late life."

She added sports participation during teenage years was especially important in terms of cognitive impairments prevention.

Scientists at John Hopkins Medical Institution suggested oxygen equipment could be used by diabetics to improve their vision by dispersing macular edema.
