Oxygen equipment to give memory-boost?

Oxygen therapy could help restore memory consolidation in adults with obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), new research has suggested.
The study was led by Ammar Tahir of the Memory Laboratory in the department of psychology at the University of Notre Dame and has been presented at the 24th annual meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies.
OSA patients being treated with oxygen were given an overnight picture memory consolidation task and were found to outperform untreated OSA sufferers at the task.
Researchers said this may show oxygen equipment is effective at recouping memory abilities that have been impaired by sleep apnoea.
Mr Tahir noted these findings reveal the success of oxygen therapy in "regenerating obstructive sleep apnoea patients' memory deficits".
An investigation led by Dean Beebe, of the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Centre in Ohio, recently highlighted children with OSA are more likely to achieve lower grades in school than youngsters who sleep without interruption.
