Oxygen equipment 'can help heal facelift bruising'

Oxygen equipment may be of use to people looking to undergo plastic surgery, new research has suggested.

The study, performed by Dr Andrew Jacono, has been published in the Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery and claimed oxygen therapy can help decrease swelling following a facelift.

Dr Jacono noted the method can lessen bruising caused by the operation by 35 per cent after seven days following the cosmetic surgery.

He explained: "Oxygen therapy works to increase oxygen to facial tissue and stimulate the growth of new blood vessels, which in turn, contributes to a faster recovery."

Healing times are among the biggest concerns for patients who undergo such beautifying treatments, the specialist observed, adding individuals are eager to return to their public lives as quickly as possible.

News on Wellness recently reported oxygen equipment is being used by the Phyto Hair Spa in Singapore to help people cleanse, regenerate and restore their thinning hair.
