Oxygen-enriched air 'can make one more alert'

Breathing oxygen-enriched air can sharpen one's responses and make them more alert, it has been claimed.

According to the 3 Fat Chicks on a Diet blog, a few gulps of oxygen can also boost a person's concentration and help them feel more relaxed.

The source states that many customers in oxygen bars have noted the effects after as little as ten minutes, with people claiming that breathing oxygen-enriched air also fights the effects of migraines, hangovers and sinus infections.

"Oxygen in its purer form may help you to feel more alert, increase your ability to concentrate and give you a general feeling of relaxation," the blog adds.

Visitors to oxygen bars can also enjoy different flavours of oxygen, with many offering varieties including lavender and eucalyptus.

Canadian businessman Randy Micallef recently revealed that he is hoping to bring something new to Ontario's cultural scene with the opening of his new Cloud Nine Oxygen Bars in the city of Barrie.
