Oxygen 'can relieve stress, boost senses'

Having more oxygen could be a key way for people to relax and tackle the issues of stress, which could lead more people to buy oxygen equipment.

Neil Shah, director of the Stress Management Society, told the Sun that adults lose the habit of taking so-called baby breaths as they age, meaning they get less from breathing than they could.

He suggested that, by inhaling oxygen-enriched air, those who are feeling under the pressures of life can feel this weight lift from their shoulders.

"Babies breathe with their tummies but most adults only do so with their chests. So we get only 30 per cent of the oxygen we could do with," he asserted.

Mr Shah added that inhaling more or by being exposed to oxygen-enriched air people can change their mood and help sharpen their senses.

Last month, philstar.com's Cecile Van Straten claimed that pure oxygen can offer people many health benefits.
