There are a number of ways to ensure your face stays young and healthy-looking, with minimal sun exposure key to reducing the signs of aging.
Despite the fact most of us love spending time in the sun, it is commonly known that it can deepen facial lines around the eyes and face, not to mention increase the risk of skin cancer.
Miguel Toribio-Mateas, a leading nutritionist and advisor to Astral Light & Creamy, offered his tips on staying safe in the sun.
"Limiting your exposure to the sun and gently 'phasing it in' according to your skin type is best," he said
The expert drew attention to fact we all have different skin which reacts in its own way to the sun, so gauging your skin's response on the first day of exposure is key to understanding how well it can take the rays.
Mr Toribio-Mateas continued: "Keeping your skin impeccably moisturised is vital to ensure that essential moisture is not lost, which can lead to fine lines and wrinkles."
He advised anyone who has spent a long time in the sun in any one day to apply a thick layer of revitalising moisturiser to rehydrate the skin.
Sunbathers can also give themselves an extra level of protection by mixing their moisturiser with a sun block half an hour before going outdoors.
"Healthy skin that has a healthy glow and that radiates beauty from within is a lot sexier than 'leathered' or 'orange' skin that's been overexposed to the sun and shows signs of photo aging."
As well as using creams to keep your skin hydrated, it also worth sticking to the recommended eight glasses of water per day to maintain a healthier body.
