Octathlon rising gym challenge for oxygen busting

An emerging trend among gym goers aiming to bolster their oxygen levels is the Octathlon.

This event pushes competitors’ core stability and cardiovascular system as they challenge themselves on a range of gym equipment.

Competitors race to complete eight different exercises in the studio across such equipment as the stationary bike, rowing machine and treadmill.

They are also required to undertake lateral pull downs, step ups, bench presses and shoulder presses before they can be crowned the winner.

Many fitness fanatics pursue the regime as they prepare for a busy season, perhaps in running, cycling or triathlon competitions.

The event has been highlighted for its blend of strength training and cardio to ensure challengers undergo an all round workout.

It could be the perfect complement to runners heading for a well-paced season of 10k, 15k or half-marathon races this summer.

A strong core is proven to help prevent injury as it improves balance.  ADNFCR-2960-ID-801358673-ADNFCR Bookmark and Share Subscribe to the News RSS feed
