Migraine sufferer could get help from oxygen

A woman who suffers from weather-related migraines could find that portable oxygen may help her.

Shakira Robson told the Daily Mail that she suffers from an attack just before it rains, meaning she can predict the weather.

However, the mother-of-three said that the illness, which started out as a novelty, has now had a massive impact on her life, at times leaving her paralysed.

Portable oxygen could help Ms Robson, as scientists believe that two or three days of low pressure can trigger headaches, leading to lower levels of oxygen in the blood, blood vessels dilating and then causing a headache.

Ms Robson said of the condition: "My life has changed drastically because of the migraines. I'm seeing a specialist now and I pray things will get better."

People who suffer from cluster headaches can also benefit from portable oxygen, while it can also help people who have chest tightness and smoke inhalation.
