The Manchester City midfielder told BBC Sport his recovery from an ankle injury has been accelerated by oxygen treatment.
He should now be ready for selection when the two nations compete against one another in the group-stage tie.
Barry was booked into an oxygen chamber every morning in an attempt to speed up the healing process.
He explained: "The treatment they gave me probably got me ahead of where I should have been."
The international admitted he was fearful he may miss the tournament altogether, especially having read news articles writing off his chances of appearing.
South Korea's decision to acclimatise for the competition in South Africa by using oxygen equipment has clearly paid off, according to the AFP, after the side defeated Greece by two goals to nil in their first game.
