Fundraiser shows appreciation for oxygen therapy

A man has shown his appreciation for the oxygen therapy he received 20 years ago by raising money for the centre where he was treated.
Selwyn Facey took part in the Scottish Widows Parish Walk and finished in 32nd place following the 85-mile trek, isleofman.com reports.
The feat took the 54-year-old more than 20 hours to complete and he generated £1,307 for the hyperbaric chamber in the Isle of Man, where oxygen equipment was used to treat him two decades ago.
He breathed in pure carbon monoxide while spraying a lorry and was administered oxygen to cure his ills.
"I used the chamber daily and it healed all the damage done by the carbon monoxide," Mr Facey explained.
He added the facility helped people with a wide range of problems while he was in attendance.
In a recent article for Whyy.org, Maiken Scott claimed oxygen therapy is becoming an increasingly popular method for treating young people with autism.
