Customers flock to oxygen bar

The owner of an oxygen bar in Canada has revealed that after some initial scepticism, people are embracing the benefits of breathing oxygen-enriched air.

Joseph Hughes told the Canadian Press that his Green Bean Café is doing very well and that more people are coming through the door, from university students to business executives.

He got the idea to open an oxygen bar after using oxygen therapy with his martial arts training.

Pregnant women are regular customers, as are those with hangovers.

"We had one customer who had a terrible tequila hangover and you could actually smell the alcohol coming out of his body. He has been back, but he swears off tequila now," he told the news provider.

Dr Paul Stillman, a member of the Expert Group on Hydration, recently told the Independent that taking a few breaths from an oxygen canister can help people with hangovers function better.
