Combining oxygen with fatty foods a good way to ward off hangovers?

Over the festive season, many people could find themselves coping with a few more hangovers than usual after agreeing to celebrate with some festive drinks.

Portable oxygen is one way individuals can strengthen their ability to cope with the after-effects of alcohol, but using the product while eating fatty food may be even better, as lining the stomach has been recommended by a doctor.

Dr Joanna Longstaffe wrote in an article for the South Wales Echo that consuming greasy or carbohydrate-rich meals may be a good plan before having a tipple and the next morning.

She explained lining the stomach before drinking can delay the amount of time it takes for alcohol to take effect, while forcing a fry-up down when feeling a little ill the day after could also be helpful.

This comes after Natural health professional at the Naturopathy Institute in Germany Maren Schmidt told Deutsche Presse-Agentur those who have consumed alcohol should sleep with a window open after partying because getting plenty of oxygen will reduce the severity of their hangovers.
