Canine oxygen treatment 'gives aerobic benefit of two hours exercise'

Allowing dogs to breathe oxygen-enriched air can be seen to give them the equivalent aerobic benefit of two hours of exercise, it has been suggested.
Tsuyoshi Hirano, the owner of Wag Style, a company that specialises in oxygen treatment for canines, says that administering dogs with the substance has allowed a number of "miracles" to take place under his watch, boingboing.net reports.
"Crippled dogs who recovered their youthful gait, wounds that healed within minutes, visible reversal of aging," are all cited as the benefits of the therapy.
Similarly, Kristen Johnson of Equine Hyperbarics, states that administering oxygen-enriched air to a dog can result in a nasty wound changing with just a few treatments.
Oxygen therapy was recently seen to save a cat's life, after it was given to the animal by a firefighter after it became trapped in a blaze.
Fireman Marty Vail said that the oxygen helped to clear the cat's head after it suffered from smoke and heat exposure.
