Brits 'will consume 602 million units of alcohol this Christmas

At least 602 million units of alcohol will be consumed by Britons this month, leading to many hangovers, which could be eased by the use of portable oxygen canisters.
According to Drinkaware, the equivalent of 265 million pints, 286 million glasses of mulled wine or 602 million shots of vodka will be drunk on Christmas Day.
Nearly half of people admit they will drink more than the recommended daily unit guidelines, meaning many could require pure oxygen to help them through the hangover the next day.
Chris Sorek, chief executive of the charity, said it is important people do not drink too much.
"It might feel like party time, but it's still really important to keep track of how much you're drinking - the long-term effects of drinking to excess can last for much longer than Christmas," he added.
Recent research conducted by Temple University in Philadelphia, published in the journal Behavioural Neuroscience, found that coffee is not a hangover cure, which could encourage some to purchase home oxygen equipment to ease their pain.
