Breathing pure oxygen 'is like meditation'

With exam stress mounting, students at Oklahoma City University have been taking advantage of near pure oxygen at a special facility.

The establishment has set up an oxygen bar in the Tom and Brenda McDaniel University Center, NewsOK reports, with more than 16 flavoured varieties for people to enjoy.

After completing a marathon nine-hour study session, nursing students Ryan Ponce and Tara Tahkofper told the newspaper that breathing almost pure oxygen did wonders to calm them down.

"You're focusing on breathing. It's like meditation in a way. You're focusing on one action," Mr Ponce said.

Ms Tahkopfer added that she had been suffering from a headache after they finished revising, but that a short session with an oxygen canister got rid of her pain.

Students at the University of North Alabama recently did the same thing to beat their exam stress, using an oxygen bar to calm their nerves and focus their minds, TimesDaily.com reported.
