Breathing oxygen-enriched air 'is the way to beat pollution'

Bangalore is a highly-polluted city and locals are deciding to battle it by investing in home oxygen equipment and people in the UK may want to follow suit.
Neethu Reghukumar, writing in the Bangalore Mirror, claims that more people are buying pure oxygen, particularly in winter time, because the cold air coupled with the pollution makes breathing difficult.
With the UK in the midst of its longest cold snap in more than 30 years, people here could take a leaf out of their book and invest in home oxygen equipment to ease their own breathing problems.
Companies in the city which produce oxygen canisters have been inundated with requests from members of the public, who have truly embraced oxygen therapy.
"With temperatures dipping and air pollution rising, it seems to be the common refrain for Bangaloreans who are lapping up oxygen therapy like never before," Mr Reghukumar writes.
The need for home oxygen equipment in the UK could become more pressing in the near future, as a new report from the Environmental Audit Committee has shown that the country is missing its carbon reduction targets.
