Breathing oxygen-enriched air 'is a relaxing sensation'

Those who lead stressful lifestyles could find some relief by breathing oxygen-enriched air like one student in the US.

Mike Walsh, a senior horticulture major at Colorado State, told College Avenue that it helps him to relax and makes him feel better than atmospheric air which is polluted.

"For me, it's really just a relaxing sensation. The atmospheric oxygen nowadays is a lot lower than it has been in the past, so it really feels better in my mind," he stated.

He said that different flavours have different effects but added that all of them make him feel relaxed and healthy.

"Sometimes I feel calmed after I try the lavender, but I feel more uplifted after trying the lime or the wintergreen," Mr Walsh stated.

As well as helping people to feel relaxed, oxygen in a can also alleviate the pain of hangovers, according to the Recovery Connection blog, which states that the increased oxygen flow is believed to speed up the metabolic rate which helps toxins to be broken down quicker.
